Fundamental Market view - 7-11-2012

In a volatile trading session the key benchmark closed in green due to renewed buying in Realty stocks. Buying support also seen in banking and Pharma stocks. Cipla was the top Sensex gainer. GAIL, HDFC, SBI and BHEL are the heavyweights closed in green while Hindalco, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki closed in red. Among the individual stocks,
Amara Raja Batteries rallied 16% to Rs 259.70 after reporting 35% year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit at Rs 70 crore for the second quarter ended September 2012 on back of higher sales. Net sales grew 28% at Rs 715 crore on y-o-y basis. On the sectoral front, the BSE realty index was the top gainer, up 2%. Healthcare, power, Bankex, PSU, FMCG consumer durables, oil & gas and metal indices were also among the gainers. While, auto, capital goods and IT indices ended negative. The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, turned positive from negative in late trade. On BSE, 1,519 shares advanced and 1,318 shares declined.
