HDFC Bank scales record high on surge in ADR

HDFC Bank rose 0.68% to Rs 666.90 at 9:18 IST on BSE after the private sector bank's American depository receipt or ADR surged 3.05% to settle at $40.24 on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, 21 November 2012.


Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 60.98 points or 0.33% at 18,521.36
On BSE, 2,576 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.55 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
The stock hit a record high of Rs 667.05 in intraday trade today, 22 November 2012. The stock hit a low of Rs 665 so far during the day. The stock had hit 52-week low of Rs 400.45 on 19 December 2011.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 21 November 2012, rising 5.44% compared with the Sensex's 1.19% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, advancing 11% as against Sensex's 3.22% rise.
The large-cap private sector bank has an equity capital of Rs 472.72 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
HDFC Bank's net profit rose 30.1% to Rs 1559.98 crore on 24.5% growth in total income to Rs 9869.77 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q2 September 2011.
As of 30 September 2012, HDFC Bank's distribution network stood at 2,620 branches and 10,316 ATMs in 1,454 cities.
